Acai Fruit Smoothie
Original name: Fruit Smoothie (Acai)

About this dish
A deeply purple acai smoothie that tastes like a tropical sunrise in a glass. Acai berries, native to the Amazon rainforest, have been a staple for indigenous communities for centuries; today they're beloved for their earthy sweetness and impressive nutrient profile.
This version balances frozen acai with banana, berries, and a touch of nutmeg for a warm, golden surprise.

Method
Prepare the acai
1 minuteIf your acai puree comes in frozen packets, briefly run them under warm water for 10–15 seconds to loosen the fruit from the packaging. Break the puree into chunks so it blends evenly.
Combine ingredients
1 minuteAdd the acai chunks, banana, frozen berries, almond milk, and optional nutmeg and maple syrup to a high-speed blender. Secure the lid.
Blend until smooth
1 minuteBlend on high for 45–60 seconds, using the tamper or pausing to scrape down the sides as needed, until the mixture is thick, creamy, and completely smooth.
Adjust consistency and sweetness
30 secondsIf the smoothie is too thick, add almond milk 1 tablespoon at a time until pourable. Taste and add a little more maple syrup if desired.
Serve
30 secondsPour into two glasses and top with chia seeds if using. Serve immediately with a wide straw or spoon.

Tips
- For the thickest, most scoopable smoothie, use frozen fruit and avoid adding ice, which dilutes the flavor.
- A tiny pinch of nutmeg enhances the natural sweetness of the acai and berries—don't skip it if you have it on hand.
- If you prefer a sweeter smoothie, blend in a pitted Medjool date instead of maple syrup for a caramel-like note.
- Leftover smoothie can be frozen in an ice cube tray and re-blended later with a splash of almond milk.
Serving suggestions
- Serve in chilled glasses or transfer to a bowl and top with granola, sliced banana, and extra berries for an acai bowl. It's also a great post-workout refresher.
